Individuals/Families Benefits
Drug/Alcohol Programs
Individuals, realizing their drug or alcohol addiction, know their destructive behaviors are harmful to themselves and their relationships with family, friends and employer. At WHCC, they can seek help from respected programs including Alcoholics Anonymous, Palmer Drug Abuse Program, and Cocaine Anonymous. Over time, they can gain control of their addictions and begin to heal the damage to themselves and relationships.
But, as we know, addiction is a family disease. The disease affects all those who have a relationship with an addict. Those closest to the addict suffer the most, and those who care the most can easily get caught up in the behavior of another person. We react to the addict's behavior. We focus on them, what they do, where they are, how much they drink or smoke. We try to control their addiction for them. We take on the blame, guilt, and shame that really belong to them.
Drug and alcohol rehab plays an important part in people become less destructive and more productive members of society. The benefits are manifold: improved mental and physical health; better relationships with family and friends, reduced societal costs for healthcare, education and criminal justice.

Personal Development/Spiritual Growth
The fabric of any community is determined by its individual fibers. WHCC seeks to create a vibrant community fabric by weaving meaningful programs that help develop the individual and community.
Currently, these fibers are represented by programs like the Fellowship on Memorial, Mosaic Theatre Company, and Family Point Resources. Collectively, they provide opportunities and programs for individuals and families to: develop and nourish their spiritual needs; create a "connectedness" to the community; and help break the social and economic gaps that are necessary to break cycles of poverty.
